Guide To DVD Authoring

Children speaking in eerie rhyme is an all but guaranteed mode of horror travel at this stage of the game. A mysterious figure appearing from behind the protagonist’s shoulder, too, is nothing new.

But does the expected or, dare I say it, the cliched always net out as something unworthy of our time? Not by a long shot. For me, and for many fans I expect, the real wrinkle here is the addition of Daniel Radcliffe. Boy Who Lived, you are not in Hogwarts anymore: this movie looks to be a supernatural flick of a whole different color, and it’s going to be very interesting to see how the erstwhile “Harry Potter” star navigates a brand new genre with a bleaker tone than the already decidedly dark “Deathly Hallows” conclusion.

I personally haven?t heard stories of sharks searching out and attacking people wakeboarding in what looks like an enclosed body of water, but who am I to judge? The clip shows why actor Sinqua Walls likely won’t be riding around behind a motorboat any time soon (hint: he doesn’t look like he’s living too long beyond the end of it).

“Shark Night 3D” might be a horror satire, but the “Jaws” influence on the flick is certainly evident in this clip. Walls might not be wearing a bikini like the swimmer at the beginning of Steven Spielberg’s classic, but he is definitely just as unsuspecting of his imminent demise.

Coming from “Snakes on a Plane” director David R. Ellis, “Shark Night 3D” follows a group of seven vacationers who go to the Louisiana Gulf to spend an innocent weekend at a lake house. Unfortunately, that vacation doesn’t go quite as planned when they start being subjected to fresh water shark attacks.

Expect plenty of meta humor in the vein of “Snakes on a Plane” when “Shark Night 3D” hits theaters on September 2. Based on what we’ve seen, the movie knows better than to take itself too seriously, and should be just as much gory 3D fun as last year’s “Piranha 3D.”

After walking the white carpet in a flowing gold and burgundy Alexander McQueen dress with a matching headdress, Mother Monster shocked the world at the 2010 awards when she slipped into her third outfit of the night: a dress made out of some choice cuts of beef.

“As soon as I saw her on that white carpet I just knew that this night was gonna be Gaga insanity,” said Alycia Belle, VMA wardrobe stylist for the 2010 show, in a new “VMAs Revealed” special that premiered on Saturday (August 20).

Before unwrapping the cow couture, Gaga had merely one wardrobe change during the show ? a black Armani leather dress with spiked bustier. But when the time came to announce Video of the Year, the audience had no idea what was about to hit them. The folks working behind the scenes saw a suspicious number of coolers being brought into Gaga’s dressing room, so they could tell that something was up.

“I’m getting calls that she needs to be in her seat, we give her kind of a two-minute head’s up, the door opens up, and I see she’s wearing a red dress,” said Ernesto Elias, Gaga’s talent escort at the show. “I start to notice people staring a little bit harder than they normally would.”

And with good reason. While plenty of stars were wearing leather shoes, or even cowhide skirts, no one expected the eye-popping fashion choice that Gaga was about to unveil.

“I was literally this close to her … I just remember looking at it and just wondering, ‘Is that really … ?’ remembered Sandra Piedra, talent coordinator for the 2010 VMAs. After a harder look, Elias said he realized that it was not a “normal” type of fabric.

Let’s call that the understatement of the year.

“People who were on the floor, who are right around her, are like, ‘It’s meat! Meat! Like, ground chuck meat!’ ” Dave Sirulnick, executive producer of the VMAs, recalled. “I know that there is nobody who ever heard the two words ‘meat’ and ‘dress’ put together before September 12 [2010] at about 11 p.m.”

And with the announcement this week that Gaga will be opening the 2011 VMAs, fans of music and fashion everywhere can’t wait to see how she’ll top herself.

Lohan ? who, it is noted in the suit, is “a professional actor of good repute and standing in the Screen Actors Guild” ? is suing under the New York civil-rights laws, which protects individuals from having their name exploited for commercial purposes. The suit seeks an injunction to stop all the defendants ? in addition to Pitbull, Ne-Yo and Afrojack, who wrote “Give Me Everything,” are named ? from broadcasting the song. It also seeks unspecified damages.

A spokesperson for Pitbull had no comment on the suit when reached by MTV News.

Lohan filed a similar suit ? reportedly seeking $100 million in damages ? against financial services company E-Trade last year after the company aired a Super Bowl commercial that referred to a baby as “That milkaholic Lindsay.” The suit was withdrawn in September, with E-Trade reportedly paying Lohan “a confidential sum.”

The “Give Me Everything” lyric was in reference to Lohan’s July 2010 stint in Los Angeles County Jail, when she served 13 days of a three-month sentence for violating probation on a 2007 conviction for driving under the influence.

Kim and Kris announced their engagement earlier this year after only six months of dating, and the Kardashian family was just as shocked by the news as fans were.

“We were totally surprised. I mean, because I had been working so much, and Kris lives in New Jersey, I’ve only met him not even a handful of times,” Khloé told MTV News earlier this summer. “We were at a family dinner and she walks in, and she’s like, ‘I’m engaged,’ but we didn’t even know if it was a joke.”

The couple celebrated their upcoming nuptials Thursday night at Scarpetta inside the Montage Beverly Hills hotel. People.com reports that they were surrounded by 75 of their closest friends and relatives, including Kim’s equally famous family, who enjoyed cocktails and dinner. “What a fun night w family & friends!” Kim tweeted after the rehearsal dinner. “Now I’m sleeping in late tomorrow!”

The ceremony will air in E!’s “Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event” on October 9 and 10.

Leading up to the big day, Kim Kardashian said she was feeling completely at ease with taking this next step in her personal life. In an interview with People.com about her wedding, she said, “Everyone says you’ll freak out, but I’m totally calm. I think that freak-out moment kind of already passed.”

“I found out at like 2 a.m. in the morning,” Sean said. “I called my mom and was like, ‘Mom I’m nominated for an MTV award, ahhh!!!’ I was screaming and then she started screaming. We were just sharing that moment.”

The first shows Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander and Daniel Craig as Mikael Blomkvist poring over some papers that very likely have to do with the Vanger case that sits at the film’s center. Unfortunately there’s not much context to go off of, but this could be the scene where Mikael visits Lisbeth for the first time and tries to recruit her to helping him solve the Vanger case. Regardless, it’s nice to see the two of them in the same still together, since it’s their dynamic that we are most looking forward to.

Turns out Craig also gets a photo to himself that also shows off some of the Swedish landscape. It looks to us like Blomkvist is struggling to find some cell service so he can talk to his lady Erika Berger, who is being played by Robin Wright. That would mean that he’s hanging out at Vanger’s estate, something we haven?t had a chance to see much of in recent promotion.

These new images continue to leave us feeling optimistic about David Fincher’s take on “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.” The “Dragon Tattoo” trailer certainly left a good taste in our mouth, and we look forward to seeing what the future promotions for the flick look like. There are still a good few months of marketing ahead of us, as “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” hits theaters December 21.
